Title

Consider a resolution approving the Matching Funds Program Application with Mr. Mike Librik, for the installation of an approximately 200 foot Hike and Bike Trail connecting the Keller Place shopping center to the Little Bear Creek Hike and Bike Trail, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents thereto on behalf of the City of Keller.

Body

Background:

In 2014, the Keller Development Corporation created a Matching Funds Program to enable the city to leverage its capital funding to assist with the development of the Parks and Recreation System.

Mr. Mike Librik has submitted an application to partner on the design and installation of a 200 foot Hike and Bike Trail connection to the Little Bear Creek Hike and Bike Trail from the Keller Place shopping center; Mr. Librik’s contribution would be $16,768 and the application requests $6,265 from the Keller Development Corporation.

Budget Impact:

Mr. Librik received multiple quotes for surveying, engineering and construction for this proposed project. The low bid for surveying was $2,000. The low bid for engineering was $1,000. The low bid for construction was $20,033. City staff has reviewed the quotes and recommends the design and construction of the 200 foot Hike and Bike Trail connection, utilizing Prism Surveys, Inc. for surveying, Thomas Hoover Engineering, LLC. for engineering, and Silver Fern Concrete for construction in the total amount of $23,033, of which $6,265 shall be funded by the KDC.

Financial Considerations:

Approval of this application is within the Keller Development Corporation capital improvements matching fund program budget.

Citizen Input/Board Review:
