Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute the Letter of Understanding with United Health Care for the City of Keller Employee Vision Insurance Renewal, from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019.
Action Requested:
The intent of this Agenda Item is to seek approval from the City Council for the City Manager to enter into a contract with United Health Care for Vision Insurance coverage for FY 2018-19.
Background:
Ten (10) sealed proposals were received by the City for its Vision Insurance benefit renewal. United Health Care submitted the lowest, most responsible proposal that, if approved, would decrease Vision Insurance costs by 8.0%; or, an estimated monthly cost of $1,518.52. (Actual costs are contingent upon census data, which may fluctuate throughout a plan year.) Plan design remains static.
Financial Impact:
Contributions for Vision Insurance are the sole responsibility of the Employee. Therefore, there is no monetary impact to the budget for this item.
