Title

Consider a resolution approving the Matching Funds Program Application with the Keller Youth Association, for the installation of additional batting cages at the Keller Sports Park, utilizing KMI Sports Construction, for the Parks and Recreation Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all agreement documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller.

Body

Background:

In 2014, the Keller Development Corporation (KDC) created a Matching Funds Program to enable the city to leverage its capital funding to assist with the development of the Parks and Recreation System.

The Keller Youth Association (KYA) has submitted an application to partner on the installation of batting cages at the Keller Sports Park. The KYA would manage the project and fund the full project cost of $103,789.30.  The KDC would reimburse the KYA an amount of $34,596.  The KYA received multiple quotes for the construction of these batting cages and the low bid for the project is $103,789.30. City staff has reviewed the quotes and recommends the construction of the batting cages utilizing KMI Sports Construction in the total amount of $103,789.30, of which $34,596 shall be reimbursed by the KDC.

Financial Impact:

The project is included in the Park System Capital Improvement Project with funding provided by the KDC.

Citizen Input/Board Review:
