Consider a resolution approving the bid from Midwest Wrecking Company, Inc. for the Water Well Abandonment and Associated Demolition for 785 Chisholm Trail in the amount of $65,440.

Background:

This project is included in the 5 Year Capital Improvement Program.  Based on the available water quality sampling records from the Texas Water Development Board, the water well and associated storage tank and equipment have not been in use since 2003. The well will be plugged and abandoned per all regulatory requirements and all associated equipment and piping will be removed.

On October 24, 2018 two (2) qualifying bids were received at Keller Town Hall for this project.  A bid summary is included showing the range of bid amounts.  City staff, with the aid of an engineering consultant, has reviewed the low bidder’s qualifications, bonding capacity and references and recommends Midwest Wrecking Company, Inc., of Hurst, Texas be awarded the bid in the amount of $65,440.00 with construction to be completed within ninety (90) calendar days.
