Title

Consider an ordinance amending the City of Keller Code of Ordinances by amending Chapter 18, Article III, Parking Zones, Section 18-300, No parking zones, by adding a new paragraph (1) v. and a new paragraph (1) w.; providing a severability clause; providing a penalty; authorizing publication; and establishing an effective date.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider an amendment to the Code of Ordinances by creating no parking zones on portions of Lyndhurst Way and Bear Creek Parkway.

Background:

In order to increase the sight distance for motorists on Lyndhurst Way, now that a parking lot has been constructed in Milestone Park, staff is recommending that both the north and south sides of Lyndhurst Way from Davis Boulevard to the west property line of Milestone Park have “no parking” signs erected in these two areas establishing no parking zones. Furthermore, in order to prevent traffic flow and visibility issues for motorists on Bear Creek Parkway due to the proximity of the park, staff is recommending that the south side of Bear Creek Parkway between Elaine Street and Bear Creek Park Road have “no parking” signs erected in this area establishing no parking zones.

Paragraph (1) v. of Section 18-300 will make a “No Parking” zone on the north and south sides of Lyndhurst Way from Davis Boulevard to the west property line of Milestone Park. See attached Exhibit A.

Paragraph (1) w. of Section 18-300 will make a “No Parking” zone on the south side of Bear Creek Parkway between Elaine Street and Bear Creek Park Road. See attached Exhibit B.
