Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with the Tarrant County Elections Administrator, to conduct the City of Keller General Election, to be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Background:

The proposed Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with the Tarrant County Elections Administrator outlines the duties and services of the Tarrant County Elections Administrator, and the City of Keller’s responsibilities for the May 4, 2019 Joint Election. The Joint Election Agreement and Contract for Election Services with Tarrant County Elections includes:

 

(1)                     All entities participating in the May 4, 2019 Joint Election will share all early voting locations, which includes Keller Town Hall as listed in Attachment “B” of said Agreement and Contract.  All registered voters will be able to go to any early voting site in Tarrant County, and vote on election issues for which the voter is eligible to vote.

 

(2)                     On Election Day, the registered voters in the City of Keller will only be eligible to vote at Bear Creek Intermediate and Shady Grove Elementary as listed in Attachment “A” of said Agreement and Contract.

 

(3)                     The County’s electronic voting equipment for said election includes the Hart InterCivic eSlate/eScan Voting System, which has been approved by the Secretary of State.

 

(4)                     Combined ballots will be utilized in each polling location where jurisdictions overlap for the May 4, 2019 Joint Election.     

 

Financial Impact:

The City of Keller’s total cost estimate to participate in the May 4, 2019 Joint Election conducted by the Tarrant County Elections Administrator is $11,418.87.
