Consider a resolution approving the purchase of one (1) replacement Kubota Track Loader, from Zimmerer Kubota & Equipment, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, through the BuyBoard Cooperative Purchasing Program, and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the purchase of one (1) replacement Kubota Track Loader from Zimmerer Kubota & Equipment, Inc., in the net purchase amount of $22,894.90.
Background:
The requested track loader is to be utilized by Parks Department staff throughout the City of Keller Parks System. The uses for this equipment will include, but not be limited to: construction projects in parks, on athletic fields, and city facility grounds; tree placement; irrigation and drainage improvements; and general park maintenance.
The requested track loader will replace an existing unit which is eighteen (18) years old and has 2,173 hours of use. Along with the existing unit, staff will be trading in equipment that is no longer needed, or past its useful life which is detailed in the Staff Attachment.
During the Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget process, all equipment requests were submitted to the City Manager for review.
BuyBoard is a purchasing program that allows state and local governments to benefit from the shared purchasing power of numerous state entities. Detailed bid sheets for the requested track loader and selected implements are included with this memo as Attachments.
Financial Impact:
The total amount budgeted for this equipment is $67,000, which is to be funded from the Keller Development Corporation. The cost of the equipment with selected implements is $76,394.90, and the trade-in allowance of old equipment of $53,500, for a net purchase cost of $22,894.90.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
The Keller Development Corporation approved this item in the FY2019-20 KDC annual budget.
Legal Review:
The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed resolution.
