Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the bid from Ark Contracting Services for the US 377 Sanitary Sewer Extension Project in the amount of $995,673.00.
Background:
In an effort to encourage economic development in north Keller along US 377, the city has committed funds to extend sanitary sewer to the area. To ensure the proposed sanitary sewer line can serve all tracts of land in this area as well as future extensions per the city’s wastewater master plan, city staff worked with an engineering consultant to determine the best alignment and to acquire the necessary easements.
Six qualifying sealed bids were received on February 5, 2019. A bid summary is attached showing the bid amounts. City staff, with the aid of the engineering consultant, has reviewed the low bidder’s qualifications, bonding capacity and references and recommends Ark Contracting Services of Kennedale, Texas be awarded the bid in the amount of $995,673.00 with construction to be completed within two hundred (250) calendar days.
Financial Impact:
Funding is included in the Wastewater System Capital Improvement Project budget with funding provided by the Water-Wastewater fund and developer contributions. The total budgeted amount for the project is $1,450,000.
