Consider a resolution rejecting the bids for the Playful Puppy Sculpture Plaza, for the Public Arts Program, and authorizing the City Manager to re-advertise the bid on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
A Request for Proposals was advertised in accordance with State Law for construction of the Playful Puppy Sculpture Plaza at the Keller Police Department/Regional Animal Adoption Center. One add alternate was included for refurbishing the existing police dog memorial setting.
Five (5) proposals were received and read aloud in accordance with State Law on November 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The lowest bid received was more than double the project architect’s estimate of $60,000, therefore staff intends to work with the architect to reduce the scope of the project and re-bid the plaza later this spring.
