Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Agreement for Combined Public Safety Dispatching and Jail Services for the Cities of Keller, Southlake, and Colleyville, Texas, to include combined Jail Services for the City of Roanoke, Texas, at the City of Keller Police Facility, and authorizing the City Manager to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Keller.
Background:
The cities of Keller, Southlake and Colleyville entered into an interlocal agreement for combined public safety dispatching and jail services in August 2010. The City of Keller entered into a separate agreement with the City of Roanoke in 2012 for only jail services. The purpose of this item is to add the City of Roanoke to the interlocal agreement with Keller, Southlake and Colleyville for the jail services portion only.
Financial Impact:
Upon the start date of this Amendment to the Agreement, Roanoke’s, Southlake’s, and Colleyville’s payments for Jail Services will be adjusted for the fiscal year to a cost share of 15.56% for Roanoke, 33.97% for Southlake, and 16.54% for Colleyville.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
The City of Roanoke approved Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Agreement at their June 19, 2020 City Council meeting. The Cities of Southlake and Colleyville will take action once it is approved by the City of Keller.
Legal Review:
The Interlocal Agreement was reviewed by the City Attorney.
