Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Agreement for Combined Animal Control and Animal Shelter Services at the Keller Police Facility, with the Cities of Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, to include the City of Roanoke, Texas, and authorizing the City Manager to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
In August 2012 City Council approved an Interlocal Agreement with the cities of Southlake and Colleyville for combined animal control and animal shelter services. A separate agreement with the City of Roanoke for only animal shelter services was approved at the same time. The proposed amendment would add the City of Roanoke to the agreement for animal control.
Financial Impact:
Upon the start date of this Amendment to the Agreement, Roanoke’s, Southlake’s, and Colleyville’s payments for animal control services will be adjusted for the fiscal year to a cost share of 12.28% for Roanoke, 19.89% for Southlake, and 17.07% for Colleyville. Payments for animal shelter services will be adjusted for the fiscal year to a cost share of 14.62% for Roanoke, 10.72 for Southlake, and 8.65% for Colleyville.
For the first two years of this Amendment to the Agreement, Roanoke will receive a discount of $15,695 for the capital contribution of the Roanoke Animal Control vehicle.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
The City of Roanoke approved Amendment No. 1 to the Interlocal Agreement at their June 19, 2020 City Council meeting. The Cities of Southlake and Colleyville will take action once it is approved by the City of Keller
The City of Roanoke meet on August 25, 2020 to adopt Animal Ordinances in order to be aligned with the Cities of Keller, Southlake, and Colleyville.
