Consider a resolution approving the purchase of Miscellaneous Concrete Improvement services from Apex Concrete Construction, Inc., of Keller, Texas, through the Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Richland Hills, dated July 19, 2005, for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the purchase of miscellaneous concrete construction and repair services from Apex Concrete Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $240,000.00.
Background:
The City of Keller entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of North Richland Hills on July 19, 2005 (Resolution 2316) for cooperative purchasing of various goods, materials, equipment and supplies.
These services provide for the most cost efficient construction and repairs of small sections of concrete, including sidewalks, driveway approaches, curbs, gutters and other miscellaneous concrete repairs on an as needed basis.
The City of North Richland Hills has entered into an annually renewable contract with Apex Concrete Construction, Inc. of Keller, Texas, for miscellaneous concrete construction and repair services. The City of North Richland Hills is currently in its fourth and final renewal period with Apex Concrete Construction. The final renewal will expire before the end of fiscal year 2021, necessitating the approval of a new contract at a future date.
City staff has reviewed and determined that the bid (included as a Staff Attachment) and its current renewal from Apex Concrete Construction of Keller, Texas for the City of North Richland Hills provides for the lowest and most responsible unit prices for such services and recommends the purchase of miscellaneous concrete construction and repair services in an amount not to exceed $240,000 on an as needed basis during fiscal year 2020-21.
Financial Impact:
The funding for this contract is contingent upon approval of the related expenditure in the proposed Fiscal Year 2020-21 budget. The contract will be funded from the FY 2020-21 General Fund - Public Works Department and Street System CIP budgets.
