Background:

Staff recently brought forward a proposal to amend the UDC to allow murals with review by Planning and Zoning Commission and approved by City Council. This amendment was approved unanimously on June 16, 2020.

 

 

Request:

Today, Two Brothers Winery is proposing a mural for their property at 110 Lamar Street. The mural drawings excludes text per the UDC requirements. It will be located on the wall facing Hill street that makes up the outdoor eating area (The wall is 30 feet wide by 10 feet in length.) The proposed change is attached in Exhibit A.

 

                     

Alternatives:

The Planning and Zoning Commission has the following options when considering a Mural application request:

 

§                     Recommend approval as submitted.

§                     Recommend approval with modified or additional condition(s).

§                     Table the agenda item to a specific date with clarification of intent and purpose.

§                     Recommend denial.

                     

City Council Action:

If the Planning and Zoning Commission takes action and makes a recommendation on this agenda item, then this mural request will be scheduled for City Council action on November 3, 2020.
