Consider a resolution approving the Matching Funds Program Application with the Keller Lacrosse Association, for the installation of a lacrosse field at the Keller Sports Park, utilizing McAllister’s Landscape Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, for the Parks and Recreation Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all agreement documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller.
Action Requested:
Consider approving a Keller Development Corporation (KDC) Matching Funds Program application with the Keller Lacrosse Association.
Background:
In 2014, the Keller Development Corporation (KDC) created a Matching Funds Program to enable the city to leverage its capital funding to assist with the development of the Parks and Recreation System.
The Keller Lacrosse Association (KLA) has submitted an application to partner on the installation of a lacrosse field at the Keller Sports Park. A request for sealed bids was advertised in accordance with state law for Lacrosse Field Construction Services at the Keller Sports Park.
Seven (7) proposals were received and read aloud in accordance with State Law on January 29, 2020, at 2:00 pm. The lowest bidder meeting specifications was McAllister’s Landscape, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas in the amount of $210,000.00.
City staff has reviewed the low bidder’s references and recommends the construction of the lacrosse field utilizing McAllister’s Landscape, Inc., in the total amount of $210,000.00, with $105,000.00 funded by the Keller Lacrosse Association, and $105,000.00 funded by the Keller Development Corporation.
Financial Impact:
Approval of this application is within the Keller Development Corporation Fund Balance.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
The Parks and Recreation Board and the Keller Development Corporation have unanimously recommended approving the Matching Funds Program application from the Keller Lacrosse Association.
