Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving the bid for pond dredging services for Bear Creek Park Pond from American Underwater Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $199,254.00.

 

 

Background:                     

The City of Keller entered into an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Southake on June 25, 2012 (Resolution No. 3223) for cooperative purchasing of necessary equipment, supplies, and services.

The City of Southlake has entered into a contract with American Underwater Services, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, for pond dredging services as needed over the next 12-month period. These services provide for the most cost efficient method of removing silt and sediment from the bottom of Bear Creek Park Pond.

City staff has reviewed and determined that the bid from American Underwater Services, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas for the City of Southlake provides for the lowest and most responsible cost for such services and recommends approving the bid for pond dredging services for Bear Creek Park Pond in an amount not to exceed $199,254.00.

 

Financial Impact:

The pond dredging portion of the project, in the amount of $199,254.00 shall be paid from the Parks Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding from the adopted FY 2020-21 Keller Development Corporation Budget.

 

Citizen Input/Board Review:                     

The project was presented to, and unanimously approved by, the Keller Development Corporation.

 

Legal Review:                       

The City Attorney has reviewed and approved the proposed resolution.
