Title

Consider a resolution extending the terms of appointed Boards and Commissions members appointed in 2019, with terms ending in 2021 by one (1) year.

Body

BACKGROUND:

The City Council appoints members by a majority vote for the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Library Board, the Public Arts Board, the Economic Development Board, the Parks and Recreation Board, and the Keller Development Corporation.

Each Board or Commission member serves a staggered two-year term ending on November 30.

On August 4, 2020, City Council approved Resolution No. 4268 extended the terms of appointed boards and commissions members with terms ending in 2020 by one (1) year, due to public health and safety concerns related to the novel coronavirus (COVID- 19).

This extension has caused all terms of all board and commissions members to expire in November 2021. This new extension will bring the terms back to the staggered term endings.
