Title

Consider a resolution approving an Interlocal Agreement with Tarrant County, Texas, for equipment and services to provide Remote Video Magistration in the Keller Regional Jail; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Background:

Persons arrested in Tarrant County for offenses of Class B or higher are taken to Tarrant County Jail for centralized magistration. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office conducts a daily transport of arrested persons from Keller Regional Jail to Tarrant County. This has increased in-custody times for arrested persons. Remote video magistration will enable Tarrant County to complete magistration of arrested persons in the Keller Regional Jail.  Remote video magistration will decrease in-custody times for arrested persons.

Financial Impact:

This project does not financially impact the City’s fiscal budget. The City currently has equipment and services within the fiscal budget for this project. Any additional equipment or service requirements for remote video magistration will be provided by Tarrant County.
