Action Requested:                     

Consider a resolution approving the bid from Earthworks, Inc., for contractual services relating to Grounds Management Services - Parks, Facility Grounds, Medians and Parkways, for the Parks and Recreation Department for a three (3) year period, with one (1) additional one (1) year renewal period, not to exceed four (4) years for an amount not to exceed $259,126 per one-year term.

 

 

Background:                     

In the Fiscal Year 2020-21 General Fund Parks and Recreation Budget, funding was included for grounds maintenance services for parks, facility grounds, medians, and parkways.
                     
Bid Item No. 1 includes mowing, edging, weed-eating and litter control of the following parks, facility grounds, medians and/or parkways:

A request for sealed bids for said services was advertised in accordance with State law.  The term of the bid is three (3) twelve-month periods beginning March 1, 2021, with the option to renew for one (1) additional one (1) year period.

Two (2) qualified bids were received and read aloud in accordance with State law on February 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.  The lowest bid was submitted from Earthworks, Inc., in the amount of $259,126.00 per one (1) year term.

Earthworks, Inc., has performed grounds management services for all Parks and Recreation Divisions in previous years. 

 

Financial Impact:

Funding is available in the FY 2020-21 Parks and Recreation General Fund budget.
