Consider a resolution awarding a contract for construction of the Bear Creek Parkway Intersection Improvements Project to GRod Construction, LLC and authorizing the City Manager to execute all related documents on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
On August 18, 2021, six (6) competitive sealed proposals were received for construction of the Bear Creek Parkway Intersection Improvements Project. Staff has reviewed and evaluated the proposals in accordance with the criteria published in the request for the competitive sealed proposals and recommends GRod Construction, LLC of Boyd, Texas be awarded the contract in the amount of $2,292,169.00 with construction to be substantially complete within 180 calendar days of notice to proceed. This selection is based on the contractor’s experience overall, experience with similar projects, personnel, safety record, subcontractors and price as referenced in the request for proposals.
The project includes converting the existing four way stop at the intersection of Bear Creek Parkway and Whitley Road/Elm Street to a single lane roundabout, water and sanitary sewer line improvements, drainage improvements and new sidewalks.
A bid summary has been included for reference.
Financial Impact:
Funding is included in the Streets Capital Improvement Project budget with funding provided from the General Fund.
