Consider a resolution approving the purchase of pool deck resurfacing and tile cleaning services for the Indoor Pool, from Sunbelt Pools, Inc. of Dallas, Texas, for $110,608.00.

Background:                     

The rubberized pour in place decking material on the Indoor Pool deck requires maintenance of about $20,000.00 annually and requires the pool to be closed for approximately 7 days.  The current material is not durable enough for the high traffic area, has continued to deteriorate, and has inconsistent material colors causing unsightly patches.  The decking currently has holes, discoloration, and flakes off easily making its way into the pool systems and other portions of the building.  Additionally, the tile coping has not had professional cleaning in several years and is currently stained and discolored.  Full replacement of the pour in place material with non-slip concrete will allow for a low maintenance, safe surface that should last 10 - 15 years before patching and/or another replacement is needed.  Professional tile cleaning will need to be completed every 3 - 5 years.

Sunbelt Pools, Inc. is a Buy Board vendor that specializes in commercial facility construction and renovation and have completed many projects for The Keller Pointe.

Financial Impact:

The total cost to replace the deck and clean the tile is $110,608.00 and funds are available in the FY 2021-22 Keller Pointe Recreation/Aquatic budget.
