Consider a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Cities of Roanoke, Southlake, Watauga, and the Towns of Argyle, Bartonville, and Northlake, Texas, for the purpose of creating CRASH Reconstruction Team.
Action Requested:
City Council consideration of a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Cities of Roanoke, Southlake, Watauga, and the Towns of Argyle, Bartonville, and Northlake, Texas, for the purpose of creating CRASH Reconstruction Team.
Background:
The City of Keller has been participating with various members of the above-mentioned jurisdictions during different periods of time to provide crash reconstruction services during times any of the aforementioned agencies experienced a crash resulting in death or serious bodily injury within their jurisdictions.
Partnering with these additional agencies lessen the burden on any individual city and/or town to provide the personnel, equipment and training necessary to appropriately reconstruct and investigate these critical incidents.
Formalizing the requirements of membership, supervision, responsibilities, and funding & expenditures will provide appropriate guidance and expectations to each agency while they develop and provide responses to these incidents.
Financial Impact:
There is no budget impact at the present time. Funds for expenditures related to salary, benefits, equipment, supplies and operation of the CRASH Team shall be provided by the respective Cities. No additional funds requested.
Legal Review:
City Attorney has reviewed the Interlocal Agreement.
