Consider a resolution approving the bid from Yoko Excavating, LLC., of Belton, Texas, for the construction of the Barbara Lane Hike and Bike Trail Connection, for the Parks and Recreation Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the bid from Yoko Excavating, LLC., for the construction of the Barbara Lane Hike and Bike Trail Connection, in the amount of $272,693.00.
Background:
This will be a 10 foot wide, 1,020 foot long concrete Hike and Bike Trail connecting Barbara Lane to the Big Bear Creek Greenbelt.
A design was developed by the engineering firm of Westwood and issued for competitive bidding. Sixteen bids were received on January 24, 2023 with Yoko Excavating, LLC., of Belton, Texas, submitting the lowest bid meeting specifications. City staff, with the aid of Westwood, has reviewed the low bidder’s qualifications, bonding capacity and references.
Financial Impact:
Funding is included in the Parks Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding provided by the Keller Development Corporation Fund.
Citizen Input/Board Review:
This segment of the Hike and Bike Trail System has been on the city’s Hike and Bike Trail Master Plan since at least 2000.
Legal Review:
The City Attorney has reviewed and approved this item.
