Title
Consider a resolution approving Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement for Water Service with the City of Fort Worth, Texas to clarify the ownership of the improvements at the Alta Vista Pump Station and wholesale water meter vault to serve additional capacity; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all contract documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Background:
The City of Keller entered into an Agreement for Water Service with the City of Fort Worth in November 2010 (Resolution No. 2975). As a result of requests for additional water capacity in the northeast sector of Fort Worth from its wholesale water customers, including Keller, the Agreement for Water Service was amended in March 2015 (Resolution No. 3588) for the construction of the Fort Worth Northside II 48-inch water main which obligated Keller, and other wholesale customer cities, to provide proportionate cost sharing based on the additional allocated capacity requested. Keller’s allocated capacity was increased from 14.4 million gallons per day (MGD) to 18 MGD to match the pumping capacity of the new Alta Vista Pump Station, currently under construction at the Fort Worth North Beach site.
Approval of Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement for Water Service will clarify the ownership of the improvements at the new Alta Vista Pump Station and wholesale meter vault required to serve the additional capacity authorized by the March 2015 Amendment.
