Consider a resolution approving the bid from SDB Contracting Services, of Addison, Texas, for Locker Room Renovation, for The Keller Pointe Recreation and Aquatic Center; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all purchase documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.
Action Requested:
Consider a resolution approving the bid for The Keller Pointe Locker Room Renovation, from SDB Contracting Services, of Addison, Texas in the amount of $774,230.
Background:
A request for sealed bids was advertised in accordance with state law for locker room renovation at The Keller Pointe. Add alternates were also included consisting of event space restroom and kitchen remodeling.
Four (4) proposals were received and read aloud in accordance with State Law on June 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. The proposal that best meets all of The Keller Pointe’s needs is from SDB Contracting Services of Addison, Texas in the amount of $774,230. This excludes the event space restrooms and kitchen bid alternates due to funding constraints.
SDB Contracting Services references include the City of Richardson, Dallas County, Dallas ISD, and the University of North Texas. All four (4) references were very positive and spoke highly of the company and their services.
Financial Impact:
The FY 2018-19 Keller Pointe Budget includes a transfer from the Keller Pointe Fund to Facilities Capital Improvement Projects in the amount of $600,000 for the locker room renovation. Pending FY 2019 - 20 budget approval an additional transfer from The Keller Pointe Fund to Facilities Capital Improvement Projects of $230,000 to complete the project.
