Title

Consider a resolution approving Amendment #1 to the Development Agreement #20-06 for Samantha Springs Estates for the Public Works Department; and authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents relating thereto on behalf of the City of Keller, Texas.

Body

Action Requested:

Consider a resolution approving Amendment #1 to the Development Agreement for Samantha Springs Estates in the amount of $24,758.40.

Background:

On July 23, 2020, the City executed a Development Agreement with the Developer of Samantha Springs Estates.  This agreement identified the City’s participation in sanitary sewer costs because the location of the improvements were consistent with the Wastewater Master Plan and Wastewater Impact Fee Report.  The proposed amendment will increase the City’s participation by $24,758.40 to a total of $67,639.20 for an extension of the sanitary sewer line to serve properties outside of the development.  Because this location is included in the Wastewater Impact Fee Report, impact fees can be used.

The properties to be served are on Melody Lane just north of the development and will benefit the area by removing the existing septic systems.  This extension beyond the development boundaries has spurred interest in residents on Melody Lane to utilize the current Sanitary Sewer Extension Policy.

Financial Impact:

Funding is included in the Wastewater Impact Fee budget.
